eBesucher alternative: what the eBesucher surfbar pays and what else there is
eBesucher is a German surfbar service: you let it load advertisers' websites in a browser tab and earn points for each page view. It is one of the longest-running services of its kind. This page explains how it works and how it compares with a surf extension that pays in cryptocurrency. We are not affiliated with eBesucher; this site is published by the SurfFlux team.
How eBesucher works
eBesucher is run by a company based in Germany and says it has operated since 2002. Its advertisers are mostly in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
- Surfbar. You start the surfbar and it loads advertiser pages one after another in a tab. Points are added for each view while the tab stays open.
- Add-on. The eBesucher add-on for Chrome and Firefox handles the surfbar in the browser.
- Paid mails and clicks. Extra ways to earn points, generally paying less.
- Payout. Points convert to euros and are paid by PayPal or bank transfer. A review from Frugal for Less lists a €2 minimum.
- Referrals. A share of your referrals' surfbar earnings.
What eBesucher pays (Geld verdienen mit eBesucher)
The honest figure from user reports is around one to two euros a month for a typical user running the surfbar regularly. One user's 2018 numbers worked out to well under one euro cent per hour. Earnings depend strongly on the country you surf from, so your results may be very different.
That is not a criticism specific to eBesucher. Every surfbar pays little, because advertisers pay little for automated page views.
When an alternative makes sense
You are outside the German-speaking market. eBesucher's advertiser base is concentrated in DACH countries, and earnings elsewhere can be much lower.
You want crypto rather than euros. A crypto surf extension can pay out much smaller amounts, because the withdrawal does not go through a bank.
You also want to advertise. Some exchanges let you use earnings directly as advertising budget.
SurfFlux compared with eBesucher
| eBesucher | SurfFlux | |
|---|---|---|
| Paid in | Points → euros | DOGE |
| Payout | PayPal or bank, €2 minimum (per review) | FaucetPay, from 0.009 DOGE |
| How it runs | Surfbar in a tab, browser add-on | Extension with 1–5 tabs, or PTC ads without extension |
| Use earnings for ads | Separate system | Same DOGE balance pays for campaigns |
If you want a surfbar alternative that pays in DOGE, the SurfFlux extension is in the Chrome and Edge stores. Running more tabs increases earnings, up to double with five tabs. If you would rather not install anything, PTC ads work in any browser.
