Paid to click sites: how PTC works and which ones actually pay
Paid to click, usually shortened to PTC, is one of the oldest ways to make money online without skills or startup costs. It is also one of the least lucrative. A PTC site pays you a small amount to open an advertiser's page and keep it open for a few seconds.
How a PTC site works
- An advertiser buys a number of visits to a page, with a set viewing time, say 10 or 30 seconds.
- The PTC site shows that ad in a list to its members.
- You click it, the page opens, and a timer runs.
- When the timer ends you confirm, often with a simple check, and the reward is added to your balance.
The site keeps the difference between what the advertiser pays and what you receive. That is the whole business.
What a click is worth
Not much. On classic PTC sites paying in dollars, a click is usually worth a fraction of a cent. Crypto PTC sites pay in small coin amounts instead. On SurfFlux in October 2026, a 10-second ad paid roughly 0.0035 to 0.0087 DOGE depending on the campaign. Longer ads pay more, and so do ads targeted at your country.
Paid to click: legit or scam?
The model is legitimate. Individual sites are another matter. The PTC space has a long history of sites that collapse after a year, often after promising too much. A few warning signs:
- Rates that seem high compared with other sites.
- "Investment" upgrades that promise to multiply your earnings. These have more in common with pyramid schemes than with advertising.
- Long waits for "pending" payments.
- Most ads are for other PTC sites rather than real businesses.
How to find PTC sites that pay
- Start with a low withdrawal minimum and withdraw the first time you can.
- Read recent reviews, from the last month or two.
- Prefer sites where you can see what an advertiser pays. If advertising prices are public, you can check whether the payouts are plausible.
- Avoid apps that exist only as an APK download.
PTC apps, PTC jobs and other variations
You will see "paid to click jobs" and "paid to click apps" promoted as work. They are the same thing: small rewards for views, sometimes mixed with surveys and app installs. Calling it a job does not change the pay.
Where SurfFlux fits
SurfFlux, a PTC site that pays in DOGE, has a section that works without any extension: one ad at a time, a visible timer, and a final check before the reward is credited. Ads are shown based on your country, and adult campaigns are hidden unless you switch them on. If you want PTC rewards in cryptocurrency specifically, see crypto PTC sites.
